Happy new holiday!

December is more than bearable because of the holiday cheer, the brightly lit bushes, the garland and wreaths and ornaments. Come the new year, the decorations come down or simply become tired. Well, I say, let's refresh! Let's come up with some new reasons to celebrate and new decorations to brighten the city during this dark and icy season.

Once I come up with a new holiday name (that's the most important part), I'll get on the phone with the mayor and see what I can do.

Haven

I did something both too childish and too adult. I joined a museum that is geared mostly for children. Being that I am neither a child nor a mother, it's a little...strange.

But I joined for one reason and one reason alone: the butterfly room. At a steady topical temperature, with wall to ceiling windows and several hundred free flying butterflies, this haven (that's really what is called) feels a bit like a vacation to me.
